I`m always looking at ways to decluttering my house. My house is no where near Hoarders-terrible, but needs decluttering none-the-less. But I have to be in the mood to do it, and that mood comes and goes. It`s the start of a new year, and I`ve been noticing a lot of articles on the web lately regarding decluttering. Not sure if that`s because there are more out there, or because I`m thinking about it that I`m paying more attention to them.
Anyway...I thought this would be a good place to keep track of what I actually get rid of!
So here goes...lets ease into it with something small. You need to start somewhere right?
While I was on a recent trip, I found some new coasters that I love that commemorates my vacation. When I travel, I generally only try to buy souvenirs that I will actually use. So, since I hate my old coasters, I bought them and promised myself that I would actually throw out the nasty old cheap set. This morning...I did!
Tip: Only keep what you love, only buy what you will use.
I am decluttering too, but I feel sorry to get rid of some things of sentimental value; but what is the point fo keeping them if I cannot see them? I am going to get rid of them.
ReplyDeleteI don't have so many clothes as I have been purging the closet for a while, and trying to follow, the " one in, one out' rule. Furthermore, it is not hard to part with a bunch of T-shirts and ill fitting pants, we are not talking Coco Chanel here.
I have too much fabric and yarn, which I plan to turn into marvelous one of a kid garments. Hehehe. I rue the day I put them in plastic transparent bins, as per instructions given in decluttering programmes I saw in the H>V channel, three of four years ago. . Where did I have everything before I bought the bleeping boxes? Well, bye, bye bins, hello big space. I have a few empties now...
Good luck in your decluttering efforts, Daisy Boo, and Happy New Year and Three Kings Day which is today. (Epiphany of Our Lord Day).
I forgot to ask, when you said "coasters", did you mean the little round ones that go under glasses and goblets, or you meant place mats, the rectangular ones, put on the table at meal times?
ReplyDeleteI have yet to replace my coasters, lately I have been using some CDs to put my cup of hot tea. Paula Abdul's exercise CD, is holding up well
Maybe I will also try and de-clutter!
