Foto del dia!

Sorry, I didn't have a chance to post the "Foto del dia" in the past couple days!  I really need to remember to write up a few in advance just in case!

So, without further ado....here is another Spain picture.  Get used to seeing Spain for a while...I took a lot!  All photos this week were taken in Madrid.

It's a lovely city and there is a lot to see.  Many of the pictures I will show are "off the beaten track" so to speak.  Though I did go see all the pre-requisites (el Rastro, Retiro Park, Prado & Reina Sofia Museums, etc), we also saw many wonderful and interesting things along the way.

The following photo was taken in a park in the area of Fuencarral.  Some 50+ years ago, this part of Madrid was a separate town, so they had their own cathedral, government buildings, wine cellars (since town was surrounded by vineyards), etc.  It still has the feel of a small town (to me anyway).  It was very nice.

Love how the clouds look in this picture!  You can sort of see the mountains underneath them.

Until tomorrow!
